Octanes "renders" invisible objects

Hi
If I take 100 spheres and set their visibility to 0 octane gets very slow even though objects are not visible/

if I select all objects, go to object properties and uncheck RENDERABLE it works fine

Problem is we use Rayfire with PFlow. pFlow creates objects, rayfire later calculates their fall. But after PFlow creates objects rayfire makes hundreds of objects invisible and makes them visible when it is time for them to be calculated. unfortunately we have 1000s of invisible objects and octane is slowed down to the crawl especially when camera points at them.
I wish there was a way octane will not calculate invisible objects

Hi,

This will require further investigation. From what I gather, being able to to set "renderable" to false on an object that has been made invisible would resolve your issue, correct? Since the visibility is being manipulated by an external program (Rayfire), I can't immediately think of a simple settings change that will resolve this. I am more inclined to think more towards a maxscript based solution. I will need to test stuff out to confirm that for sure. I will get to that and get back to you as soon as possible.

Cheers,
