demo questions and v3

hi,
first of all greetings to the forum members and developers.
i am writing here because i do not have access to max plugin area and the support is not answering my questions.
will try and keep it short.
- is there any speed difference between V2. and V3? what is to be expected for those coming from using v2 in terms of performance?
- how is volumetric stuff handled within max?
phoenix fd has a openvdb loader which i intend to use. will this work or will there be a otoy loader for volumes?
- displacement and bump material do not work together in the trial version, not even with the mix material fix. will this be amended in v3?
- i have read that max 2017 plugin will come in the days following the release. any concrete info when we might use it?
- will there be substances support?
- rendertime subdivision is ignored on my end. is this normal?
i want to pull the trigger on the license but am honestly weary about some aspects and would like to make sure what i am buying into.
now i have to say that octane blew me away both by speed and quality but i wasted far to much money on renderers tbh.
thanks
