Is this possible? Say Octane scatter has generated 100 trees for me. I like the postition of all hundred trees except in one place where I want to remove 10 trees.

Hi Martin,
probably I have not understood the question, but can't you use a vertex map to remove the 10 trees?
ciao beppe

how?
1. Set Maximum Time to 1 in Project Settings if you don't want any animation.
2. Delete everything except the Scatter object and all geometry that you want to convert.
3. Start LiveViewer -> Export To ... -> Animated Package (orbx)
4. Open the exported orbx in Standalone and use File -> Unpack package...
5. Import geometry.abc from assets folder in C4D with Scale option set to Meters.
6. Use the free Instance Vault plugin and Search option in Object Browser to convert objects to instances.

Regards
Milan

Try to switch to "Display Type=Object" and press 'C' while clones are visible.

Hahaha. You killed me. Nice. Thank you. I didn't even try that... (shaking my head)

Ahmet. Please, if you have any more tricks like that, that maybe only you know about, because, well, you made the plugin, it would be really nice if you shared them with us on the forum occasionally. Maybe in a sticky topic. No video, just short text posts just like your tip above. Only plugin specific stuff, about scatter, node editor, material stacking etc. Short and quick.

I see some tips like that in the release threads, but they get lost after a new version comes out. It's hard to keep track.

Milan
