SCENE OPTIMIZE

Hi Guys ! i need some help, I got a scene with too many vertices, even octane v3 alhpa 3 doesn't handle it out.
Please let me know how can I optimize the scene? Does octane take the intances in modo as poligons? Or what should I do in modo to optimize the scene for octane.
Please help ! thanks a lot !

Hey Magierski,
It's a bit hard to tell exactly what you are working with in order to provide you with any sound advice.
Is there any way you can upload the scene or take a screen grab of your object/scene so we can better understand what it is you are wanting to optimise?

Here is my scene and setup -

As you see I got 27 mln polys, but it will be more

Let's say 40mln for the final shot.
Octane runs with 20mln, but when I set the 27mln it crashes.
I got octane 3 alpha 3 but is still shows me in preferences Octane ver2, is something wrong with my files? Or I didn't installed the v3 coreectly?
Anyways, I need to render a scene in octane using modo 901 and 40 mln poligons, IS THAT POSSIBLE SOMEHOW?
If not, please tell me how can I reduce poligons, some kind of instances? replicators?

The latest TEST release of the plugin should handle 40 million polygons (assuming you have a big enough graphics card). How much VRAM do you have? How much normal RAM do you have?
Make sure you turn on Out Of Core Textures. And set System->Preferences->Rendering->Octane->Maximum Vertices to 50 million.
The graphic showing Octane 2 is a bug. Instead, the version number should show in the bottom of the Octane Setup window, or in the System->Kit Toggle Enable menu option.
You can reduce the number of scene polygons by using Modo Replicators or Instances (which will convert to Octane Scatter nodes).

I got 4x8 GB ddr4 2133 MHz and 3x gtx970 4GB Asus GTX970 DC2 Strix 4GB but I am using only 2 for octane, 1 for a display.

You should have the hardware to handle 40 million poly then. Would it be possible to send me the 27 million polygon scene pls and I will take a closer look at the problem. paul at physicalc-software dot com.

I did a instances and optimize the scene little bit, now I have GL: 38 MLN and IT WORSK!
When I hide some of poligon instances modo is showing me less poligons in GL.
So now I have 38 mln with instances.
When I hit the wall I will send you the scene! Thanks Paul
