hdri - and sharper shadows?

hi

i have a few of peter guthrie's hdri skies, and i find the lightning nice, but i wonder if there is a method to get more crisp shadows?

you can try to combine an octane sun with the hdri, selecting the hdri as sky in the sun settings.

You can play with the gamma of the HDRI. With VRay you have to lower the value from 1 to 0.9 or less. You'll need to adjust the exposure of your camera then

hi boris

yes, it seems that i can combinate the light and the hdri image.

when tried that before, i thought that the hdri only displayed as an image, and not as a lightsource.

@remka
i'll have to try to adjust the gamma, to find out which method is the bedst.

and here is workaround in photoshop for sharper shadows in HDRI
