Two spheres merging with Metaball - Merging textures

Hey Guys,
For an upcoming project I was looking into the effect where two objects/materials (let's say a red and blue sphere) would merge like blobs (metaball effect).
In C4D I would use the proximity shader right? But how do I achieve this in Octane?
Does anyone know?
