GPU VRAM Status Display Question

The render stats display that Octane imprints on the bottom of the image frame showing VRAM usage for each GPU is confusing me a bit. I have three GPUs in my syetm, and the VRAM reads as 1.302Gb/3.764Gb/6Gb. The 6GB GPU never changes its value. Is this stat free RAM or used RAM?

Hi,
the informations about the VRAM usage are:
Currently used by Octane / Free memory that can be used / Max GPU memory in theory.
You are roughly losing 1GB, probably because you have a GPU that works for both monitor and Octane or other applications are using CUDA

Great, thanks! Yes, I have two monitors plugged into the first GPU card. I am unaware of any other option for them
Now does that mean that ALL of the cards follow this VRAM allocation, or just the card with the monitors attached?

Unfortunately, losing VRAM has effect on all the system. The card with less memory always determining the max VRAM available. This is the reason why the best set up for working with octane is to have a dedicated GPU (iGPU, Quadro, one slot GTX) only for display and other GPUs only for rendering

Thanks for the information. I have read this elsewhere in this forum, but your answer was the clearest (for me).
I only have so many slots, and without water cooling, I don't think I want to put another into this box just yet. That said, VRAM-wise, I am not yet running into trouble, so, so far, so good...
