Hi there, im sure antoerh easy question, with the Poser plugin there are options for each map, diff, spec, bump ... to change scale

Is this option available with DAZ plug in too? I have a texture i need to reduce size and tile more but cant find where to do that, thanks!

That is actually very simple with OcDS. And you can do it at two places.

When selecting the actual image map, you have the option to resize it.

Or you can use the Textures tab of the plugin, where all the loaded textures are listed. In the first column you can see the resize status of each texture. By clicking on the number, you can again select a resize ratio for that texture.

In case you don't want to physically resize the texture itself, but you just want to make it 'smaller' for tiling (seamless textures) then you need to use the UV Transform pin in the NGE:

And then decrease the following values:

Hope it helps. ;)

In the octane render tab for each texture there is a dark grey area "UV transform/2D Transformation"

Click that. Then it will expand and show you rotation, scale x,y, translation x y

In my case I don't typically have a 2D transform pin and it's all collapsed inside a simple material. So I find the UV transform on the tab on the right. Point is you can get to this in the NGE or with the regular Octane render materials tab.

There are a few more parameters exposed if you go into the NGE which is pretty common. So they look slightly different.

When you scale the texture on the texture tab and save the scene. After reload, the texture is back to normal (not scaled). Do I do something wrong ?
I need to scale texture as i don't want to use OOC. With 1X PCIe extender, OOC is very slow !! (a factor of 3 to 6 !)

Wow that is a big difference. thanks for sharing. I'll keep that in mind when suggesting OOC in the future.

Not sure about saving the texture settings because I've only used it once or twice. I would not be surprised if it was a bug though...

Yes I confirm that resizing texture with texture tab (list of textures) or in material tab (specific mapping texture resize) are lost if saved and reloaded.
Don't test yet by modifying in NGE x and y scale.

pretty sure nge x and y scale work otherwise i would have noticed that issue. I use that a lot.

scalling with NGE doesn't work as you altered the UV mapping, it render as tile !
Simple test with victoria v7 face map.

Well you should not use scaling for the Victoria face. Typically human textures are not scaled.

You would use scaling for repeating surfaces like bricks/stones, plaids/velvets and things of that nature. Useful for clothes and environments.
