Changing all materials type in a scene

Is there a way to quickly force all the materials to change from Diffuse to Specular?
Every time I import a scene from Maya, all the materials are Diffuse by default, and I have to manually change them to Specular.
When I have few materials is not a big deal, but sometimes I have hundreds of materials, and this becomes really time consuming.
Also, is there a way to "extract" the texture node from the material? By default the texture is embedded into it, but I want it to be a node on itself. Is it possible?
