DX12 and shared VRAM and Octane?

DX12 seems to introduce the ability for an application (games?) to add up the VRAM .. i.e. two cards with each 4 GB would be 8 GB, not the usualy 4G-with-same-content x 2. I understand this is not automagical and probably needs both hardware (?) and software side support. But I wondered what this means about CUDA (or Open CL for that case)?

I have no clue about these things and just wonder if this is also a "thing" for Octanes future?

I'm aware of that. I wonder, if Octane can do this as well in the future, or if there's some technicalities I have no understanding about that generally prevents this.
