Hi all,

Is there any way to offset the start time of an animated bitmap sequence in Octane?

We are using v2.11.1 (Octane Max plug)

This would be a rrrrrreallly simple but extremely useful feature...

best,
O

Ok.

So I'm going to assume that currently this is not possible. =(

Shame. I have a 600 frame time lapse exr sky that I can't loop. Static sky it is. =(

Hi,

This is actually really simple. You can just edit the IFL file so it reflects how you want the frames to be played. By default the IFL file reads a dir of map files and creates a sequence that looks for example like this:

frame01.jpg
frame02.jpg
frame03.jpg
....

But there is nothing stopping you from editing the IFL file so it looke like this:

frame01.jpg
frame01.jpg
frame01.jpg
frame01.jpg
frame01.jpg
frame01.jpg
frame01.jpg
frame01.jpg
frame02.jpg
frame03.jpg

Octane just renders the IFL file so that from frame 0 til 7 it would be frame01.jpg then the sequence starts.

It takes just a few seconds in notepad to create loops, offset start etc.

I hope i understood your problem correctly and that this helps.
