MTL Files & Octane

Since I have trouble importing MTL files to Blender, I sometimes recreate the materials myself by hand. But I don't exactly understand how to apply the phong model in there to octane nodes.

Examples of my problems:
- MTL makes a difference between ambient colors/textures and diffuse? How does that apply to Octane?
- MTL sometimes defines an ambient color, despite also loadingan ambient map. Is the color definition ignored or somehow used together with the map
- What are decal maps in MTL and how do they apply to Octane nodes?

Is there a doc explaining this?
