Hi all, this is my 3rd try to use the DAZ plugin. Been using the Poser one since release but I want to move off Poser.

That said, I am back were I left off last time. I updated latest Video drivers, downloaded latest plugin, fresh install of DAZ. Set up a simple scene with one G2 Character.

Renders nice with Reality, and DAZ other internal render engine.

I open the Octane View port and non of the materials are converted. I get a White OBJ.

I ant for the life of me figure out what the materials wont convert is there a setting some place I need to adjust or a process I need to do to get the, been looking for over an hour before I decided to ask here again.

This is the same thing that ahppend to me 6 months ago an dI gave up trying to figure out why the plug in wont convert the DAZ materials to some sort of base config, Diffuse, bump ... really all I need

thanks

Running through the basics in my head (I apologize if you have already done all of this before):

1. Is OcDS set to auto-convert? There's an option in the preferences panel to do so, and there's a toggle, if you've added the tools to your toolbar.
2. If you've already gone through the other setup steps, I really can't think of anything off the top of my head aside from this that should be stopping you.

Should look something like this:
Notes.PNG
And the toggle looks like this (clicking it cycles through manual loading only, from the .duf-saved Octane mats, and automatic conversion with .duf-saved mats taking priority):
Notes2.PNG
Notes2.PNG (2.3 KiB) Viewed 1878 times
It is currently set to "Auto," reflecting the preferences setting.

I guess check this first, and make sure it matches up. If that doesn't help, we'll go from there.

After doing/checking what sikotik13 said, you can also check the following:

Are materials being created and just not showing up, or just not there at all?
In the OcDS materials tab, does the left section have a list of materials or is it empty?

If there are no materials, can you manually auto create the materials?
In the middle section of the OcDS materials tab at the top there should be a "Missing" drop down menu, with the first option being "Create as auto materials(s)". Alternatively you can select some surfaces bellow in the middle section (they should be coloured orange if they have no materials linked to them) and either hit "Ctrl+Shift+A" or right click on them, the first option in the menu that shows should be "Create all X as new materials >" then select "Auto materials" from the sub menu.

Hey all that worked for me thank you, sorry for new Bee questions, I've never used DAZ so that part of the challenge here too but I am already seeing nice results with the plug in with some basic test renders :)
