OctaneRender™ for Blender 2.21.1 - 7.3 Win [OBSOLETE]

OctaneRender™ for Blender plugin. Windows x64 version.


The bundle consists from two parts:
1. OctaneRender™ Server
2. Blender - OctaneRender™ edition.

The first part (server) should be run on the same computer as the second one. To stop the server - just right-click its icon in the tray.
After the server is run - you can start rendering (or open a rendered view) from inside Blender. Before the very first rendering you should fill in the server address (only 127.0.0.1 at the time), login and password (your license key info) to activate the server. After the first rendering the server will remember this activation info, and you will not need to enter it again.

You should use only OctaneRender materials inside Blender scenes - the plugin knows nothing about Blender specific materials and textures (about any Blender nodes, generally speaking).


FIXES AND NEW FEATURES SINCE LAST RELEASE
  • Added the workaround for 2.21.1 engine passes bug (sometimes passes rendering never ended). Now Blender will exit early in this case, so passes SPP value in some cases might be smaller than is set in settings. Will be fixed in next engine version.

After starting OctaneServer it will take some time before the LiveDB tree and LiveDB material previews will be available from Blender - as OctaneServer caches the LiveDB data from remote server right after starting. But only the materials groups tree will be re-cached every time after server start, LiveDB material preview images will be cached only once - so only the very first OctaneServer start will need some more time before LiveDB tree will be available in Blender.


DOWNLOAD (both distributives must be reinstalled, they depend on each other)

Blender Octane Edition - 7.3 (2.73 (59.0MB autoinstaller file)
Octane Server - 2.21.1 - 7.3 (10.5MB autoinstaller file)

DEMO is available. Use the same Octane edition of Blender for DEMO version of OctaneServer.

Nice !!! That's make my day !!! As the core is 2.21.1, the out-of-core is include in this released for Blender ?

Many thanks for this release, good to see imager presets working;)
I see only one problem at the moment - I'm unable to make final renders with "Tonemapped HDR" box unticked. Could you please instruct me how to do this properly?
I made a quick test with just a cube and daylight. When I untick "Tonemapped HDR" the preview works fine, but when I hit F12 I get only "Waiting for image..." message. GPUs work as if they were actually rendering, but no image shows up. Console says nothing.

Hi,

Yes Tonemapped HDR does the same problem to me when unchecked. Also, in stereo mode side by side, the rendering is not the double for each frame (left/right). the two parts are cropped in the current resolution like this :

the camera aspect ratio is not respect correctly, don't know how better explain.

An other thing a little weird, on an older project done with the previous version is now over exposed / burn without changing something. It's like the texture used for the meshlight don't impact the lighting at all.

UPDATE : The octane texture emission not handle at all color informations. I pluggued color or texture in all slots, not effect at all...

Have you an idea to solved this ?

Hey guys, i already have Octane standalone and octane for modo, and i'm looking foward to buy octane for blender also. But i just want to know if octane for blender 7.3 has out of core feature too. See ya, have a nice day! And sorry for my bad english!

The scattering medium nodes doesn't work for me in this new version. Nothing happens when you change absorption...
