Why does a render to save take longer than a render to VFB

When i render an animation, saving frames locally, it is 20% slower than the render in Octane frame buffer. Why does this happen, and its not just the first frame, ie the data is already loaded to GPU?
Im using 3x780 GTX 6Gb non sli.
Not really a bug but a major annoyance when rendering animations to expensive hardware.

same here.
but I noticed if you open octane view port it shows render time after the scene is loaded into the memory where rendering sequence 3ds max shows render time that includes loading data to the memory
maybe this is a problem

same here.
when i preview a character animation in octane frame buffer its really speed.
But, when i render the animation, its really slower.
any idea ?

for preview in vfb and for rendering to file it is different settings starting from size samples and other
