Camera Match Composite Question

Hi All,

We are compositing a 3D building into some helicopter footage.

We have done the camera match and now need to render.

My question is:

Can we render it right from Octane? (3DSMax plug). We have loaded the video footage into the Max Viewport. We need to keep the Max Environment as an HDR for lighting.

The problem is:

The footage shows nicely in the Octane Render Viewport, but when we try to render in Max, we get a Max Render Error (attachment below).

Is there a special trick to get this to work? Obviously we can render it without the background and comp in AFX, but if we could render straight out of Max, that would be more ideal for this project.

If anyone out there has experience with this, some help would be GREATLY appreciated. =] Or a thread link would be awesome too.

Almost forgot, Octane Max plug version 2.11.1.

Thanks!

best,
O

Hi Oliver.

Unfortunately you have to use some compositing tool. you can't save images with background even in octane viewport.
