I have a brand new computer with a top of the line processor
30 gigs of ram
3 NVidia 980's

and Octane cant render a pole with a few boxes and some extruded dragons wtf

my old computer with one 780 could render the whole scene

also my mix materials constanly lose their mixes - I've had to download several times the bronze v2 and re-assign the materials why is this happening ???[
also copying a model to another project and the mix materials don't copy this makes it incredibly hard to use stuff over and over again

this is the pole once I turn on the cloner for 4 of them the render crashes - there are no big textures only downloaded octane materials

more concise issues and thought they could have been slightly different issues and I couldn't find the other post was just frustrated with all the crashing

but read about the 980's having issues which sucks I just bought 4 of them to do this rendering
I solved the pole issue though I don't understand why I solved it
I had a subdivision surface on the dragons adding a level 3 more polygons which I guess could have jacked up the count a lot but I cant imagine it was more than the rest of my scene which has a lot of polys in those dragons
but now it seems to render without crashing that much entirely

the mix materials too seem to be stable as well not sure what I was doing . I still have issues when I copy an object to another project to work on it the mix material doesn't copy with it only the top part does so you have to manually copy all the materials every time you want to

I have replied in your other post. polygon count can't go over 20millions and check your big textures. check free vram on live Onscreen info. decrease polygon subdivisions and try your scene.
for mix material, c4d doesn't recognise this kind of material system. try to attach sub materials temporarily your copied object. or use merge command
