z depth in panorama

Hello!
I would like to make a Z depth render with the panoramic camera, but the result
gives not really the depth information like it should.
Is it not possible to make a Z depth render in panoramic view or is there some trick?
It seems, that the Z depth is calculated just in the forward direction.
I have a scene with the camera in the center and some objects around.
Rendering a normal panorama image and mapping it later on a sphere works fine,
but i would like to ad some 3d effects in postproduction with after effects
for what i need the z-depth map.
I'm using the demo version of the poser plugin v.2
If someone can help, would be very nice.
