"Octane Video Post" issue with non-Octane network renders

Anyone else having the issue where non-Octane C4D projects cannot be sent to a network render after Octane 2.x C4D plugin install due to the presence of "Octane Video Post Not Compatible" error? Even when there's no Octane content anywhere in the project, i.e. tags, objects, using C4D internal render engine?

Hi,
you are asking on wrong place. Moved to c4d section.
Remove octane from plugins, start c4d. Create new empty project and copy-paste their scene to new one. And send to renderfarm. Also you should contact to Renderfarm for recognising the Octane as a renderer.

Thank you for the reply on here. I contacted Otoy support yesterday about this with a wealth of information including the conversation with our render service and screenshots. Although your suggestion is an obvious workaround it is unreasonable and highly inefficient. No. We will NOT be de-activating our license, uninstalling, then re-installing, re-activating license every time we need to switch back and forth from Octane render to Non-Octane render projects. This behavior doesn't happen with other plugins that are not supported on network renders if they are not in use in a project. It shouldn't be happening with Octane. With regard to support for Octane by our render service, we've already been down that path and were advised that Otoy is refusing to grant license to render farms (at least in the case of RebusFarm) so that this very situation won't happen.
I have to say, as a brand new customer, Otoy support was right on top of it when I had questions prior to purchasing the product but post purchase support has been quite disappointing. I am highly displeased at the moment and expect a solution to this issue promptly as this directly interferes with our daily workflow.
Best regards,
Tobias

I don't mean to de-activate plugin. Just simple move "c4doctane" directory to a temporal place. And restart C4D. I hope this is clear enough. Be sure that i would do better solution if we have. I'm not sure why it gives this stupid errors. Plugins works as other renderers. Let me know the results.

That works just fine but I do very much hope that you will solve this issue in your software so that we don't have to carry out this workaround for all these projects. Thank you for responding quickly on here. Take care for now.

Hi. I'm using C4d 15 with octane 2.32.2 x64. I had to remove the octane plugin in order to get rid of this pluginvideopost message, I reopened the file and my render setting had octane render as default engine (weird). So now after deleting it I could start uploading my scene to Rebusfarm. It's a very annoying thing. Hope u can figure this out.
Cheers

it's not a specific issue just for us. if you use some other engines and try to use render farms it could give a error.
there's no way for us. just remove octane.

Hello,
I have the same problem right now.
I started to work with Octane, but after some deadline issues we have been forced to switch to standard render. I deleted everything relating to octane, but sadly when open RebusFarm I get the same error message.
Maybe is something invisible with octane tag, something hided in the interface. I don't know but is very weird....

I did a test today and found a weird bug I want to explain:
1- Started a project using octane renderer
2- Switch to physical renderer, remove every octane material and tags
3- Use rebus farm and get the error message, that octane is not compatible with the render farm.
4-I am going to remove Octane from plugins folder but before that, look at my render settings:
4-I remove octane from c4d plugins, open c4d and now look my render settings again:
It's weird that before removing Octane, it's seems there is a invisible octane attribute on render settings we can't deactivate, but appears if we remove the plugin.
I don't know it is a maxon problem and affect every renderer, or it is a otoy problem. I just want to share hoping it helps.
Cheers
