Ok, I bought.

Should I use it on 8 or 8.5 ? Or will it run on both at same time?

The installer will only let you install on one but you can simply copy the files over to the other.

Sounds like I should install both, and get re-acquainted that way. { No carrara is on my machine

I would say it depends on what you are going to use Carrara for, if you plan to use Genesis then yes you will need the buggy 8.5, for anything else 8.1 should do fine

I have both installed. I mainly use V4, although I bought 8.5, mainly for the genesis models.
Hopefully version 9 will address bugs. Would it be cynical, to wonder, if version 9 will be
released at the launch of Genesis 3? To support that new figure?

With the way daz has treated everyone who has asked about C9 and the lack of information coming from Daz I would have to say "Yes it would be cynical" that they release C9 in time for Genesis 3, if they release a new Carrara at all
