Some workflow questions

Hi, I'm an architecture student, and I'm currently using revit, autocad and 3dsmax edu versions. I'm planning to give the octane render demo a try, and if I find that I can easily include it in my workflow, I'll buy it. I was wondering if it is possible to update a scene in octane with updated models after previously working on applying shaders to the said model. Or would I have to restart from scratch if I need to change anything geometry-related? It would be nice if I could exclude 3dsmax from my workflow altogether, but I guess that's not possible, I can't find an obj export option from revit. Also, can you change mapping coordinates from inside octane? Scaling and rotating textures would be great, and a simple uvw box would probably be even greater
I'm not exactly sure how revit exports its texture coordinates (i guess the workflow would be something like fbx export - import to max - export to obj)
I'd also like to know how much time is left till the full version goes live. I don't think I can afford it
Are we looking at days or weeks? I want to know how much time i have to decide on whether to buy octane or not.
If I have any more questions I'll probably make a new post; you can expect some first impressions by the end of the day.
Thanks,
Matei Molnar
