You need to disable network rendering first. Then you can change the daemon scan subnet. The subnet 0/30 looks a bit fishy though.
cheers,
Thomas

if I disable it, I get the dropdown menu for IP, but there I can only select the IP (0/24) I mentioned, and no other option to change it --->

on Octane standalone I get the option to enter IP manually --->

bump... can I get some help on this?
3 computers here have octane, don't have an option to change scan subnet, on Octane standalone it works... but on max version I don't have the ability to put it above 192.168.1.0/24 (look screenshoots above)

You're should update your version of the Standalone. In the newest version you don't have to manually configure the subnet range anymore.
It should work as is if you have the newest versions. Can you find daemons on your network as described in the manual:
http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Standalo ... ge_id=1269.

Thomas

Standalone is not an issue, on standalone I had the option (in the newer version 2.06 I don't have anymore) to enter value I wanted.
Issue is 3ds max plugin, I can't make Ip scan range higher... max scan range is 192.168.1.0/24... I need it to be 192.168.1.0/30.
is this possible to change in 3ds max plugin?

Bump. Same issue here on Standalone and C4d. Can't change IP values. Only 0-24. My machines are way up in the 100+ range

In a subnet mask like 192.168.0.0/24 doesn't mean that you can have only 24 machines. It means that 24 bits are used for the network address and 8 bits for the host address. This means that your subnet supports 2^8 - 2 = 256 -2 = 254 hosts (the -2 comes from 1 for the network address and 1 for the broadcast address). In this example the valid range of ip addresses is: 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254.
We don't arbitrarily choose this subnet in Octane, we take it from the network configuration on the machine. You should see the same subnet when you issue ipconfig
in a Windows command prompt.

Thomas

This might not be technically possible.... but it would be great if you had the option to enter the in the IP addresses of the machines you wanted to be slaves.
The automatic fill in is fine ... but having the ability to type in several IP addresses of the machines you know you have and want to use would be perfect.
Is that an easy thing to do... and is there a good reason not to have that option?
Thanks
