Hello! Everything worked fine, I didn't change anything and all a sudden I'm getting this error (log file):

OctaneRender version 2.05.2 (2050002)

CUDA error 999 on device 4294967295: An unknown internal error occurred.
-> failed to initialise CUDA driver API

I updated the drivers but still, no change.

what's wrong?

PS: I checked in Octane standalone and the cuda device is recognized but not by the Modo plugin. I re-installed the newest drivers twice (clean install) , restarted the computer, still the same.

Ok, I did a system restor to 15 days ago, when everything worked well and at first It seems to work but when I rty to open the previiew window I get this log file error:

I'm supposed to demo Octane for Modo to my clients on thuesday and I'm really stuck with this... any idea?

Hi. Either there is some geometry in the scene tripping up the plugin and/or Octane, or the installer did not complete correctly (because Modo was running with the installer was run).

1) Does the problem occur on a simple scene with just a cube in it?
2) Try uninstalling the plugin via the Control Panel and then reinstalling.

Hello paul!
Took me the day but I got It solved . I uninstalled everything and re-installed from scratch and everything works now. Plus I lowered the priority for the vido board, I've read in the FAQ that the card might get too hot and freak out Octane/Modo.
Yes, the problem arised even with a simple geometry.
The strange thing is that the live plugin stopped working without my changing anything to the computer and at first, It didn't detect the board at all. After I resored the system to a previous state, the board was seen by the Octane live plugin but I was getting this code 500 error. In all cases Modo standalone kept working fine.

Anyway, evrything fixed now! thank you .

Good to hear you are up and running. The symptoms you had are typical of what you would get if you installed the new version of the plugin whilst Modo was still running. I plan to add a check in the install to ensure Modo has been shut down prior to installation.

Hello, I have this problem now?
I think I have tried everything, tried to uninstall, restart computer and install, uninstall and re-install Nvidia drivers, no luck!

When I start Modo I get:

Hi Niklas - is Octane Standalone (2.10 and 2.06) working OK for you? If you reinstall the previous version of the Modo plugin that you were using, is the problem resolved?

I think it has been there in previous versions, installed the new version yesterday, but I have seen "An Octane error has occurred. Check the Octane Log for details" for a long time but had not the time to investigate more?
If I start the rendering Window the window is black, but I guess thats not strange with the error!
Feels almost like Octane for Modo does not see my video card (a feeling/guess)!
