I'm a bit confused ... what am I seeing? A high tech insect that stung some sort of brain-ant? :) It's cool ... but the tech wasp looks oddly 2D compared to the rest ... as if painted/animation.

No, it's a high tech mosquito sucking blood from human heart. I can see why the mosquito would look 2Dish instead of 3D. There is a lack of shadow and depth because of his silvery legs, it doesn't look like it's feet resting on the heart. But the whole thing is 3D :)

This is the raw version of the image. No PW and different POV without aperture. I must admit though, I am surprised that you couldn't tell that it was a heart...hmmm :?:

That's great, I love the lighting it really brings out some interesting colours!
I would like to ask about the subtle sun rays, were they added in later or is there a trick on Octane to achieve this?

Hey there, cyNickalCyn. First of all thank you for looking. I totally suck at lighting and I don't deny that at all haha...but I am happy that you love this lighting. It motivates me to improve my ability to light my scenes.

I am sure there is a way to get those light rays in octane, sadly, I am unaware of how to achieve such thing with my crappy lighting skills. I PW (post work) my images in PSCS6 to get what I need to complete my pictures. I will do some research and if I can figure it out how to achieve god rays, I will make sure to send you the info I find.
