Personally I'd like a bit more fire in the diamonds. They look a bit photographically dull now.

Well in fact. This was the case to keep it in photographic quality.

Beautiful!
Maybe needs some more dispersion on the diamond shader.

Hey Oli.
Thanks!
The dispersion is set as in real life diamonds. As well as for the sapphire.
I didn't want to overdose those values to keep it "real looking". And in fact i saw some diamonds earlier and they looked more or less the same

Awesome!
In that case, why don't you try a couple of pin-lights to highlight the stones? Like they do in a "real" jewellery shop. It will enhance your dispersion...which is why retailers and commercial photographers light it this way in real life. Right now it looks beautifully natural already!!
But to get the 'fire', some strategic pin-point spotlighting would definitely Pimp this badboy up!!
(My humble opinion only =)

O

Your opinion is important to me

Just after I finish rebuilding my computer and get rid of some commercial projects, I'll get back to this one with some lights adjustments.
Thanks for C&C!
Cheers!

Slepy8,
I forgot to ask last time. To get the physically correct dispersion amount, did u use an Abbe Value? Are Dispersion and Abbe related to the same thing?
best,
O

I used dispersion values you can find on the web.
I didn't even know about Ernst Abbe and his numbers until now
