Hello. Here is an error I am getting. Loaded Daz's Olympia G2F, created 2 light emitters in Poser. Initiated Octane Plugin, tried to change Kernal from Direct Light To Path Trace. Here is the error I got.

Have you followed th instructions at
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=37605 which read:
It is strongly recommended that you delete your default rendertarget settings (delete C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Poser Pro\10\defaultrendertarget.por) and recreate them again in the plugin. This will ensure the new daylight structure is saved in your default rendertarget
Hopefully that should fix your error.

I take it back. Funny, file search did not fiond anything. Manual search I found that file under Poser 9. In the Poser 10 folder, nothing. Still having same problem. Fire up plugin, and Kernal is defualt to direct lighting, change to Path Tracing, and get same Trackback error. Any ideas? I really need to solve this, losing time and money with this. Thanks for your help..
Randall.

Hi Randall - you'll need to get me some more info pls - like what version of the plugin are you running?
Also, does it happen with all scenes, just old scenes, or new scenes too?
Is it stopping you from rendering?
Does it happen only when the Viewport is open, or when both open and closed?
It possible your startup Poser scene has stored Octane values in it. If this is the case, Edit->General Preferences->Document tab->Launch to Factory scene.

OK, here is the info.
Plugin 1.5
It happens with all scenes, old, new.
It stops me from rendering, as I need to render in Pathtrace, not directlight.
It happens both, with viewport open/closed.
Also now getting Trackback errors when using HDRI in Texture Environment, when I try to rotate the HDRI, and also when I use just an RGB in texture environment node, when I try to adjust the colors. And that error won't let me close the color picker at all.
Poser Recently had an update, 3.1 I think. Does the Octane 1.5 plug need that update?
Hope this helps. Thanks.
Randall.

Randall, this sounds like a plugin installation issue. Is it possible Poser was running when you installed this update?
Can you pls try: Reboot, uninstall the plugin via the Windows Control Panel, re-download the 1.5 version of the plugin and then re-install.
Let me know how you go.

OK, still getting the errors. STRANGE thing is, if I open viewport, then close it, the errors stop, and I can change Kernal, text env colors, etc.

Randall - can you post the Octane Log (from the Devices Tab) after this error occurs pls? And also post the octaneplugin.log file.
Keen to find out why this is happening to just you.
Thanks
Paul
