What to do? Back to V-Ray?

Scene is lit only by white environment.

No, theres no need to go back to Vray :)
If you like you can check my thread here http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=38893

The trick is to use an emitter mixed into the Wallmaterial or any bright materials. It works fine with c4d/ octaneplugin.
What i found is it reduces the noise a lot ( for day interiours) and lets me use directligt AO, which is very fast and suitable for most situations.

Perfect for white and clean renders.

And for subtle colorbleeding effect from colored walls or wodden grounds etc, i just setup a simple GI room, using standard renderer and bake the colorbleed fx into the wall textur. Its also possible to fake the colorbleed fx with emitters and colored textures. (i didnt used this for the examples in my thread!)
But for all these tricks, i am about to create a tutorial on how to get fast (rendertimes) and goodlooking results for interiour images and animation.

i hope this helps you a bit.

cheers,
djart

Thanks djart.
But I'm not a big fan of AO; looks very artificial.
Also these workarounds... :?

I just expected a nice clean render with almost 16000 s/px

Mind to share the scene to play around in Your environment?

many factors can cause more noises, did you checked portals with PT?

Hi RobSteady,

I'm not a big fan of AO either, but I do use both PT and DL Diffuse on interiors often. I've found three things greatly reduce render time with both engines:

1) For Diffuse DL get your Diffuse, Spec, and Glossy Depth's as low as possible while still maintain the look you want. For PT, play with the MaxDepth to lower as much as you can and still get a good looking image.

2) Add a fill light(s) within the scene. These make a HUGE difference in render time. They don't have to be bright, or even very noticeable, but just enough to help fill in those very, very dark areas. Play with intensity. You'll get a faster render time to a clean image.

3) If possible, take out a wall or large area behind the camera. Even if you don't have any environment turned on. I've found this will greatly influence render times as well.

Hope this helps.

This will not be a render engine advice..

I would suggest Neat Image's Photoshop Reduce Noise filter.
It does help really. I'd give it a try..
