which cuda driver is the right one…???!!!

i have updated my cuda driver to 5.5.47
and installed the latest octane-c4d-plugin version… (TEST VERSION 1.20a)
. . .
nothing is working…
mac pro/osx 1.8.5/c4d 13

as i wrote, i have the newest drivers installed... (cuda/cpu) and tested with various octane-plugin versions... but my octane-liveviewer-window is black...
i will try 1.23.1 today, yesterday the osx version was not there...

klick send scene, but i always have only a black live viewer… with version 1.23 too…

hi, now i see, it's not cuda related.
unfortunately your gpus are to old for the newest version of octane, you need at least a fermi card like 560-570-580-590.

you have a gtx 590, is she good and fast? is there a special mac version or is it the same like in PC´s?

hi, from lion we can use almost any pc nvidia card under mac os x
the 590 is still the faster card with octane but it's also super power hungry, 1.5gb only and you have less than half of textures compared with kepler cards.
i have also tried the mac with two 780 and it's much more better in terms of heat noise memory and texture count.
take in mind that you need an external psu for feeding this cards, but you can search for a kepler card with the dual six-pin power connectors so the external psu is not necessary.
the good news is that with any new card you should see a great speed improvement compared to your old 285
