Making a Human Eye.

This is a new model that I started from scratch ever since my submission for the License Competition.
Looking at a reference photo of a real human eye, I figured out a way to mimic the iris using the Blender's fur materials. Yep, it's all drawn by hand (?). I'm thinking of adding eyelids as well. Hope I have more option for "smooth."

 WOW!!
i think u should try another HDR... the reflections kinda takes the 'eye' away from the 'eye' .. if u know what i mean! ;)
this would look totally cool with Coating and normal maps!!!! cant wait to get my hands on version 1.

Thanks, jenujacob. Any particular HDIR image that you recommend? Mine's limited. And anybody know how to reduce the fireflies?

i think the studio HDR's provided with Octane Render works well for most cases as yours.. u get nice highlights.. wish there was a way we could control the HDR position... maybe its there.. i just havent found it yet! :D

Thanks, James. The links were very helpful. ;) Actually, the HDR image used in the render above came from one of those links.

And I think I figured out a way to get around the fireflies issue. Make your original render somewhat bigger than what you want it to be and apply a Gaussian blur and shrink it to the size you want. I tried it and the following shows the result:

After a lot of exporting and testing ... (I would like to add the eyelids If I can spare some more time ... before the License Competition ends.)

Anybody got any suggestion for some effective improvement?

And after removing the fireflies...

What do you guys think is better--one without any brightness control or one with it as shown below?
