Opacity Map

Hey Bazuka
Is a transparency map in Maya carried over to an opacity map in Octane like the color map is.
I applied an opacity map in Octane post exporting... saved the OCS file then rendered an animation and the color map came over throughout but the opacity map (not in maya shader) did not stay with the OCS

So I thought I would se if a trans map stayed with opacity and first try it did not.

Thought I would check with the master before getting too carried away : > 0

Thanks

Peter

Octane exporters works with flags, so refractive needs to implement additional flags for new features. Opacity flag is not exposed yet, so it is not possible to control.

I have made a request for this recently as well as a more flexible AO control.

However, some features are reachable within an export, such as defining the 3 base shaders, I dont think opacity is wired up.
prove me wrong and we have a problem less to worry about

Thats wrong...
Octane use the information in the mtl file and if there is a map_d texture, Octane use it as a opacity map.
Maybe there is a problem that the obj export from Maya don“t interpret it correct.

as i said, prove me wrong.

Id like to see open recivers for any shader parameter in a 0-100 range.
So we can write additional functions to the exporter scripts and wire anything to them.

I just tried a trans map and no it does not go across even though the color map does
