CUDA DRIVER ISSUE - PLEASE FIX

Hi Ahmet,

As you know OctaneC4D does not work with newest Cuda drivers. To not update cuda would be ok if other plugins would´nt need the newest version! i work with TurbulenceFD alot and it wants newest drivers or i can just render with CPU which is 10x slower than GPU. its not possible to work arround that with uninstalling drivers every time. this is a major problem! i wonder why there arent more people with this issues. this should be fixed next. FOR THE BENEFIT OF OCTANE and its USERS! PLEASE!

thx

Here is My Simple Driver Test.....

System
Dell T7600 (E5-2630 DUAL, 32GB Memory)
Nvidia GTX 780ti (Driver 331.65 WHQL)

All Version with SDK 1.2 (It's Same Libary). Only Different Plugins.

C4D R14.042 + OctaneRender 0.72B ---> All Ok
C4D R15.037 + OctaneRender 0.72B ---> All Ok

C4D R14.042 + OctaneRender 0.82 ---> All Ok
C4D R15.037 + OctaneRender 0.82 ---> All Ok

C4D R14.042 + OctaneRender 0.87 ---> All Ok
C4D R15.037 + OctaneRender 0.87 ---> All Ok

C4D R14.042 + OctaneRender 0.96 ---> All Ok
C4D R15.037 + OctaneRender 0.96 ---> All Ok
Capture1.PNG
How?

Remove TurbulenceFD Plugin....Just OctaneRender Load
Or
TurbulenceFD + OctaneRender Load.
Copy c4doctane/Lib64(octane.dat, octane.dll,vcomp100.dll) to C4D Root Dir
Do not copy nvapi.dll

Remove All Plugins & Load Only Octane Plugin.
Test Every Plugins with Octane.

Some Plugin Use CUDA API. That's Point (My guess)
Indigo, Maxwell...blabla...

Same problem. win 8.1 x64 , Cinema 4D R15 - latest Graphics and Cuda driver (v 6.0).
Standalone works just fine .
Octane for c4d 0.96-demo WORKS but threw some api errors some times and DOESN'T crash!
Octane for c4d 0.96-commercial CRASHES the Cinema!
This not a user error or some "ghost" plugin that is purely coded (e.g. Turbulence and etch).
This is just Octane falt. This is annoying. Don't take it personal. ;)
Just fix it please .

Some eplanation for turbulenceFD problems. Our plugin loads Octane.dll on startup. But also TFD is loading some cuda dll's. And it corrups our loader routines, and gives crashes.

I've written before in plugin manual a workaround for this problems.

Also i saw some reports last nvidia drivers can give errors on Standalone and also plugin. I think there is some extra factors which causes problems.

Try this for R15:

Thanks aoktar,

I saw this (and Malaurny talked me about it before) --> it works but I have still a message about Octane.dll cannot be loaded.
I don't like to see this sort of thing :(
Just afraid about C4D stability
Hope you you will find something to avois this
Phil

Just did a clean install of Windows 8 64 bit + Latest NVidia driver.
Installed Cinema4d R15 + Octane Standalone + Octane for Cinema 4d.
Activated Stand Alone and it works just fine.
Cinema started without problem and loaded plugin .
Then I went to licensing section interred my login and password and pressed "Activate" and Cinema crashed.
Now it crashes all the time on start . so the problem not in cuda or api. the problem in activation process.
If I copy files into root folder, like described in manual, then Cinema4D will hang on start and will "eat" ALL memory of the system until Windows will go blue screen . Pure memory leak. :(
