Hi,
Still using the demo version and having issues with cameras. After setting up my camera views in Max Design 2011 I export via the plugin. My issue is when I import into Octane the default view is not one of the camera views I set up and I have to go thru the process of resetting the views to the ones I had in Max. Am I missing something?
Regards,

Hi,
Octane Demo version - 1.022 Beta 2.2
Plugin version - 1.022f
3DS Max Design 2011 running on Xp with SP2
When I hit 'render' in the plugin the cameras work fine, the problem is when i hit 'export obj/mtl'. when i import into octane the camera that i had selected prior to export does not register in the imported model.
I suppose the simple question is, does the camera setup also get exported when the obj file is created?
Still using the demo as I'm in the process of purchasing the parts to make up my new computer. Figured I'd just wait the extra few days before loading up the commercial version onto the new machine. Still learning the idiosyncracies of Octane so I figured it's no big deal to stay on the demo.
Regards,
mathurin

well, export obj/mtl does just what it says.
The render button exports everything including camera and sun position/rotation.
I don't know if the demo supports every option yet, to be on the safe side, you should use the latest commercial version.

Thanks KilaD,
Figured as much but I thoguht I'd ask the question anyway. As stated in previous response, I'm putting together a new machine. That and with the imminent release of 2.3, I figured I'd just wait the extra few days before using the comm version.
Thanks again.

Did you remember to collapse the modifier stack for your objects?
