Can someone tell me why my high specular and low roughness objects don't shine ?
Thanks...

hi manos, this image was done in octan standalone or octane for 3ds max ?
well, maybe you need increase the specular value 0.10 or 0.20, roughess value 0.05 or 0.005, play with this values
if you use image in the specular or reflect option you can control the shine, playing with the value too.
but away, nice image i like it, maybe the camera angle is not vertical at all, you should fix that part.
regards.

hi manos
try to put a dark color for the diffuse of your glossy objects.

you have to lower the index of reflection !

I´ve found that octane sets a wrong index when importing an obj. Check the index of that particular material and set it manually to zero. Also lower down its roughness to zero, so you will get crisp shiny reflections.

Hi everyone:
I would like to share my experience...
The Specular setting / Roughness setting just like posted article.
One thing effects "Metallic look" from glossy to Metal. It's " Index ".
Try to adjust it, you will find how it effects outlook of material.
Cheers!
