Dispersion render

Hi

I`m having a problem with my diamond render of dispersion. I have made two different renders, One with Octane and One with Vray render, The same model is also used but I get VERY different dispersion results. I understand the renders can`t be 100% equal, but this is too much different in the renders.

Octane settings:
PathTracing, Max Depth 50.

Diamond scale in 3D Studio Max: 1,5mm x 1,5mm x 0,7 mm

Does anyone know why there is so much different? The octane render does not look real, Its too much dispersions (I have tried to change the coeffient, but I still not even similar to Vray render)
Can it have something with the Scale? How does Octane uses the scale units? I created a box with 1,5mm in 3D Studio Max and it fit the diamond, Is the right then? or does Octane use any other scale setup??!

I forgot to mention,

The dispersion doesnt look real because its too small "dispersion spectrum", In "real world" they are much bigger color spectrum.

See attached image below, This is a REAL PHOTO of diamonds, and its very BIG Color Spectrums, not so small as Octane renders.

The reflection value of the material should be set to 1.0.

The object should also have proper shading normals, otherwise you need to turn off the smooth checkbox. You can check this with the deep-channel-kernel, the shading normals mode should render solid colors on the flat faces.

The system scale unit in 3dsmax should be set to meters. You can then use the display unit scale to help correctly size your diamonds, which in this case will be set to millimeters.

Hi

Thanks for the answers.

- The reflection value is now off, I disable the reflection because you should see the RefractIon only easier.

- I`m using the same scene/model with Octane as the Vray render, So the smoothing and normals should be the same because it`s the same scene and models.

- The "Deep-Chanel Kernel" I havent really understand what that is by the manual? Can you help me out to explain? Some sort of Normals Angle Image?

- The System unit in 3dsmax is set to Meters, 1 Unit = 1 Millimeters, I Measured the diamond to 1.5mm, So it should be correct. Or does Octane handle the units different? The "Display unit size" is that a feature in Octane or where can I found this feature?

You should come across the Display unit size within the main unit setup dialog. On the first open.

That is not necessary. Plugin automatically rescale units for Octane.
