Thanks to you Paquito,
I won't miss the opportunity to ask you many questions about AO mode ;)
First I must try to follow your suggestions in the topic: http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=26319

Can you post your render before the Photoshop's adjustments?

P.S. I saw only now that I forgot to answer to your question about the threshold levels
I added two images: the first one explains where the threshold regulation can be reached; the second shows the effects of its regulation
- totally black screen with some white parts if the slider is shifted to the right....it shows/brings out all the white/brighter areas in the scene
- the opposite if the slider is moved to the left....it shows/brings out all the black/darker areas in the scene.
once applied this effect to the copy of the original render you can blur it for reaching the bloom effect desired, for straighten the effect It's better to
duplicate the layer and blend it in linear dodge

Cheers, Paolo
