Stereoscopic Camera

Hi all,
I'm trying to render out a 3d stereoscopic camera... My problem is that the 1st channel is rendered right, the 2nd channel equals the right one. I tried many configurations of the render setup and the camera viewport, including stereoscopic parameters and channels too... no succes, can you please explain me how to let Octane read the right camera-channel?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
you may wanna try this 3d camera rig:

probably stereo camera is only usable with internal c4d render engines.
Later on, mate.

Hi, thank you for the suggestion. Stupid me, I didn't think about using the SVoigt rig... I bought it since R12 when there was no stereoscopic camera support in c4d... so I forgot to have it! I will try it asap and then I will give you a feedback. Anyway I hope to see an Octane fix very soon, it would be really useful! Bye

What exactly is your approach in rendering the stereoscopic images? Do you render each eye separately?

I tried 2 ways:
1) no stereo config in rendering setup; viewport configured in stereo mode mono (switching between channel 0 and 1 each time I render); camera 3d (switching between channel 0 and 1 each time I render) left mode ON;
2) the same configuration of 1) + stereo rendering setup, exporting separated channels (matching the camera channels)
Every time it renders the same camera... please, see the attached file.

What was your setup in the exporter?

Hmm, I didn't look into the 3D camera stuff of R14 yet. There a quite a few new options... This might take some time to implement. What should be the flow? Octane can't render multiple view in one go at the moment so the exporter would need to launch Octane twice and render two separate images if the render camera is a 3D camera. Would that be ok?
Anyway, the best way of doing stereoscopic renders at the moment is to set up two camera objects yourself and then either manually render each camera or to use the stage object to switch between the camera.
Cheers,
Marcus

Maybe a problem related to the Units settings? (cm - cm)

How big is your scene, the distance between cameras, the document unit, the unit chosen in the exporter and the unit chosen in Octane in the import settings?
