IN octane how to combine two files OCS together?
Ex: I 2 files, one with a building, other with cars
I import into a new blank file the other 2 files (such as REFERENCES) XREF on autocad.
preserving materials for each file. Is it possible?

Thank you for your answers.

There's a thread earlier in this forum about 'instancing' - a tool available in more recent versions of Octane.
This allows you to have an OBJ file containing a definition of an 'instance' [like a car] and then add multiple instances of it will various transformations.
As the OCS transformation matrix differ from SketchUp's [the OCS uses the YZ flipped regime] there's some code in that thread's posts to 'translate' SketchUp instances' transformations into suitable OCS ones; which you can then copy/pasted from a text file it makes, into a dialog in Octane to make multiple instances of the one instance's OBJ file... You can of course also make your own transformation matrix files by hand and experiment with those... or even type directly into the dialog in Octane, once you understand what each of the several entries per line does to the each object added [this is somewhat counter intuitive compared the ways of the SKP...]

I understand the instances, but I do not want to repeat the material each time, I would use 2 files OCS.
In my example: I have a file ocs building and the other cars, I would use these cars for different buildings without duplicating materials, with instances we can only import OBJ files.
Ideally it should be in the file menu to add file with OCS materials.

Sounds like a request for the main forums, it might go unnoticed out here in the Kuiper Belt...

Isn't it possible to copy the nodes from one ocs and then open the other ocs and paste the nodes there?

Open 2 windows of Octane, each one containing your 2 OCS files.
& just copy / paste.

Thank you very much, I did not think to copy and paste.
But I think it would add to the menu line with OCS import material. is better.

+ as a typical menu autocad Xref.
We can work with several people.
