Hello, i have bean using the stand alone edition for almost 2 years but i'm new on the 3dmax edition.
i'm having some trouble placing an image for background, i'm trying to use the environment and effects window on the rendering menu by checking the "use map" on the background, but it dosent open a file browser in order to select an image.
Can you give me your advice,THANKS.

you need to place a octane texture environment node into the environment slot and then drag/instance to material editor. Then from the material you change the texture parameter from value to image to browse for a hdri/image map.

Sky? From where do you get sky if your HDRi is not working?
Do you have Octane sun in your scene? You can't have both at the same time.
