in PP I have removed some points on the wood.

resized from 2000 1080 to 1500 810

just find suitable rust image of screw from real life, take picture of top and side view...applay those as UV maps and you will have great result...
U can model it easily over image in blender
Mother nature is best teacher my friend :) so look at these screws rusted by coke :)

Keep it up and try tehnique from up and you will have great results !

Something is wrong: strange texture mapping / you forgot bump / the lighting is making everything flat...

I forgot the bump on the rust but not on the metal under the rust (maybe too light)

the light is flat because I wanted to simulate a photo taken in the studio
The first attempt gave me a slightly black background so I increased the scattered light and this has made it very flat,

the two textures were;
one of a color similar to rust and the other was an old wall that I used to recreate the metal (reflective) under the rust
I did not want any reflection on the rust.

I'll try again when I find time

I hope soon

I tried one more time
The first file is the same with a new two textures texture and a little more bump.
The second is new with two new textures and better lighting,, 17 minutes with direct light
