I´v been trying to render hair with Octane and though a miss beeing able to turn on geometry in the render effects dialog I have found a way to render hair on animated and deformed objects. This is the way:

Make a reference of the object you want to put hair on.
Ad a hair and fur modifier.
Turn on Display hairs and check "as geometry"
Ad a WSM modifier, I use Displace mesh binding.

Se your hair deform with your object...
What ever deformation you whant to put on this object you have to put in under the reference line in the modifier stack.

For material. The hair will get mat ID 1 and the object will get ID 2

Best/
Daniel
