Simple question. In octane what is the difference?
PS: why are all the textures float what does that mean?

A normalmap is a more accurate "encoding" of bumpiness, so you'll get better results with it (at the price of loading a RGB image instead of a grayscale one)

A "floattexture" / "floatimage" is just a funky & confusing octane way to say "grayscale" texture :D (ie. an intensity texture)
