Hi,

I thin you're scale is much too big. octane expects meters. (use obj import prefs panel to adjust)
Also i don't have a clue what it should look like and what export settings you used so any information and screenshots about those could also help...

The car is modelled in meters, its physically correct with a 1.8m manakin.

this is what its suppose to look like... rendered in mental ray

and heres the export settings. ive tried exporting in tris quads and polys, it doesnt seem to make a bit of difference. How ever, it does seem to work if i export an ultra high poly model.

changing scale "helps"... but doesnt solve the problem.

can you just try enabling the 'smooth' bool node on the yellow material in octane ?

ive tried enabling/disable on the smooth bool for the material... no change which leads me to believe its a problem with the model..... so ive imported the obj file back into max and it appears to be a problem with the "display iso lines only" option within max's subd option.

i would tell u how my theory went......but now max keeps crashing when exporting >_<

Right.... ended up using max 2011 and that exported fine.... but problem exists within octane.

heres it in octane:

To check its not a problem with the model, ive imported it back into max:

incase it helps, heres the obj file if anyone want to have a look.
