Teapots ? Voxel teapots...

More funky renders to come, maybe other meshes than teapots
First one was rendered to 4K (looks cool as a wallpaper hehe)
Second and third one are only test renders at 1024px, low samples ammount
Everything is still work in progress for now, comments and critics are welcome...
edit: the meshes are around 90 to 150mb on disk

But I could optimize them a lot, currently they have the same ammount of density everywhere
Even on all the flat surfaces, that's a waste of polygons... But still not enough high poly for 4k resolution
First and second one use transmission for fake SSS effects

i love the middle one, it's really looks near SSS like.

Thanks, I will try to render the first one mesh, with the second one environement and settings
The second one lighting is a blurred HDRI of a desert, the blue sky in background and the orange bounce from the ground
That's why the effect is so much visible, the difference of the two colors make the transmission shine

Ahaha thanks, now everytimes I look the first one I think about cheese
light is... Ektachrowesome + blurred HDRIs

Thanks to Octane blazing interactive preview, it was quick and easy to tweak the lights

Very cool Sam. Nice fake SSS mate

Wich app did you use to make the voxel meshes? 3DCoat ?

No

I used a 30 day demo of some alpha software...

Hey Sam,
this is supercool
I have a folder called "Inspiration" in my WIP hard drive... hope you don't mind if I save the first of your shot there
...and c'mon, why all this secrecy about this voxel-generator? no wait, I have a suspect now...

Nice ones:) It would be cool if we could import voxel data from fluid simulators into octane:)

Thx, well they are converted back to triangles for Octane
For animation you would need a sequence of meshes. Realflow can do it already

Heh, no problems... if you are into cheese and teapots
...and c'mon, why all this secrecy about this voxel-generator? no wait, I have a suspect now...
Well there's no secrecy, you can find it using google... its just that I don't want everyone to know my little tools

If you got a suspect, you are on the right path already
Bubble gum was missing, here it is... rendered at 2k
edit: 4k res, downsized to 1024px
(its the mesh of the first one, then I tried to recreate the light of the second one)
Its done by memory since for the picture 2 I didn't saved an OCS
