UPDATE: I feel silly. I thought this thread was geared toward the Mac version of 2022.1-XB3-R4 plugin. I see on the main Octane X for Mac thread that 2023 isn't supported. I will submit a support ticket regarding 2022.1-XB3-R4 plugin not working with C4D R25.120
Sorry for my ignorance, but how do I install the Octane 2022.1-XB3-R4 plugin for C4D 2023?
1) I downloaded the plugin from
https://render.otoy.com/plugindownloads ... R3_OSX.zip on the first page of this thread.
2) I created a plugins folder in /Applications/Maxon Cinema 4D 2023/plugins and in C4D's plugins preferences, I added that folder.
3) I copied the c4dOctane folder into /Applications/Maxon Cinema 4D 2023/plugins and removed the c4dOctane-R25.xlib, leaving the c4dOctane-R26.xlib
4) After getting the Mac Security & Privacy warning a couple times when launching C4D, I "Allowed Anyway"
5) I disabled "Open using Rosetta"
When C4D 2023 opens, there is no Octane menu. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Am I misunderstanding what you mean with the "FIXED 2023 build"? Users @SSmolak and @LOVEXMEDIA seemed to indicate that 2022.1-XB3-R4 plugin is running in C4D 2023.
I do still have C4D R25.120 installed with the previous version of the Octane C4D plugin. It crashes too often but is still mostly useable. Before updating to C4D 2023, I tried installing 2022.1-XB3-R4 plugin with my existing C4D R25.120 install (removed old c4doctane folder, disabled rosetta) and I could see the Octane menu in C4D, but as soon as I opened the Live Viewer and pressed the render button, C4D crashed. This is why I updated to C4D 2023.
I'm on a MacBook Pro 16in, M1 Max, 32GB RAM. Any help would be appreciated.
