It exports the obj, just puts all meshes into one object with one material. The new script does the same thing. I will record a screen cap for you.

Here is a screen cap of the process to verify that I'm not doing something funky. Hopefully I am and it's an easy fix. I did not record it, but exporting the same object normally via the export menu option works just fine.

Very strange, i did the exact same thing and it worked as expected..

Since it worked on your 32bit version, it could be something strange with your install or some scripts running in the background?

I didn't try it with 32bit, I don't use 32bit Max at all. That must have been someone else.

Just tried - it seems fine with Max 32bit (first export worked anyway).

Not sure what would be conflicting with 64bit. Anyway to tell?

Hi everyone.
i dont know if this is the place to ask this, but am i doing something wrong on this workflow?---
(btw i use 3dmax 2010 and currently 2.3 v4. MAX2Octane 1.022f)
before 2.3 v4 to animate or render a scene in octane all i did was:
-set up camera and colors in 3dmax
-fire up plugin, create a new project, and export
-wait for octane, adjust settings, adjust materials
-overwrite project with new settings and new materials
-close octane
-select same project again, and either render scene or animate and presto....

but now, everytime i do this, the settings and materials i had on the octane project file are disregarded and the original settings kick in...
but if i open the project directly from octane, all the materials and settings are there...

i know im doing something wrong, but i dont know what, here is a video to help illustrate my problem. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me

Hi kilaD,

when you say "Just had to connect all the nodes to material" How does that work . You mean just load the material for the particular object. What if im just using standard colours that I happened to change in Octane.
also how do i make sure that It keeps properties like tramsparencies, glosiness, sun... etc as I adjust the the transparency of a window save the octane file and when rendered again the same project from max it show me the original defaul look again.....



Im using 3dmax 2010 and MAX2Octane V5
