I just tried the above and could not get a freeze. Are you able to get me a crash report pls Andreas? Rhino will generally create the crash report on your Windows desktop.

I have added a test build of the plugin for Octane 2.10 at
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=42587.
-It would be great if the color correct modifier would incorporate a saturation slider and ideally 3 additional sliders for red green and blue power of the texture.
Good suggestion. This is an Octane Standalone change - so may I suggest you post it to the Octane 2.10 Standalone thread.
-If I create a "parent" material node e.g. by adding a color correction modifier on top of an existing rgb image node, the node should automatically be moved into the new subslot of the parent material, right now the slot is created empty and the old node is lost.
You should 'Copy' the RGB node prior to changing the node type to color correction, then 'Paste' the copied node into the first pin. I will add an option to allow you to paste the pins that are not connected.

IMPORTANT PLUGIN INFO: There is a Windows/Rhino bug where if you have the Rhino Material panel docked to the Rhino UI, then when you move a slider on an Octane Material and then tab to the Octane tab, Rhino will lock up. To get around this, Undock the Rhino Material panel. McNeel will be releasing a fix for this shortly.

I have updated the links at the top of this thread to plugin version 2.14.0.23. Pls see the TEST thread for release notes.
Pls note that this version of the plugin require Rhino 5 SR 10.
The random Rhino lockup when clicking from the Material tab to the Octane tab (when they are both docked) should be resolved with Rhino SR 11.

Live texture mapping widget updating?

Hi Paul,
I noticed on the last couple of 2.0 releases that the texture mapping widget does not update live within the Octane viewport in Rhino.
I've tried the live mesh geometry option, but that doesn't allow automatic texture mapping widget revisions (e.g. scaling, rotating, etc) within the Octane viewport, either.
Am I missing something, or can this be added to the functionality?
(I realize I can refresh the viewport, but it's nice when it's "automatic", after adjusting the texture widget.)
Thank you!
Nathan
Layered EXR File support?

Hi Paul,
Another question: Is there any way to get all the render passes embedded inside the EXR file (option in Octane toolbar) rather than rendering all the passes as separate files?
(I'm getting a black frame if I save as a layered EXR file.)
Thank you,
Nathan

I just checked this - and you are right, this is no longer working. It appears to be a change potentially introduced in Rhino SR10, so I have escalated this issue to McNeel. I will let you know when I hear something.

You need to let all the passes render (set Render Passes->Start Samples to 1 to force the earliest possible rendering of info passes). Also, make sure the software you are using to view the EXR is capable of reading the layers (Gimp is not capable - try djv_view).
