An other one...
Based on the Icetree above, put the result in a rescale and send that to the aperture.
So you can make the aperture higher, lower or inverted, based of the distance.
Source start can be the min distance to the mesh, end the max distance.
Based on that, target start can be the min value of aperture and end the max value.
eg.
Say the min and max distance is 1m and 5m, the in value is also between then.
Targed start can be 5cm, end 40cm.
Then you have at a distance of 3m a aperture of 22cm.
Or you can change one start/end value to invert it. At 1m you have then a aperture of 40cm.
Other eg.
Nice is to use the camera roll angle (angle z).
Roll angle = 0, aperture = 0.01.
Roll angle = 45, aperture = 10cm.
Maybe one can use it for everything
Time to drive to the work, cabriolet weather.
I love it

Hey Face,
I've been playing with the animation capabilities of your plugin recently (thanks again for that, it is so fun & fast now between XSI and Octane

)
and I came across a strange behavior of the camera focal length (or FoV).
I always use the "render animation" button (either set to a range or a single frame as you stated in one of your first posts).
I have 3 passes, the beauty from Octane, a Depth and a Motion Pass from XSI.
The problem is that the focal length between Mental Ray and Octane do not match. The weird thing is that if I render just one frame (here the 40th) everything matches perfectly. But If the frames are rendered as a range they do not anymore as if there was some problem with the interpolation curve of the focal length... very strange.
I hope it will be clearer with a couple of images:

- Wires

- A frame rendered individually: perfect match

- Same frame but rendered as a range (1-50)... focal length problem here

- The final comp with depth and motion blur + grading
Has anyone else have had the same problem?
what do you think?

Can you try to change the interpolation from linear to spline?

I switched between spline and linear interpolation as It was my first guess too but it still mismatches...
I did a little test: I rendered frame 37-43 , pausing Octane each time and taking a look at the fov parameter. For some reason the fov is correctly set on the first frame (37th here) but then it is not updated.

Can you send me the file, without the geometry?

After updating Octane to latest version, I can't select the new executable in the XSI plugin. It says, "Please choose the octane 2.2 execute".

Right, for that was the download link above.
