Generally all 32bit renders that come from OCIO looks like that. No matter what exactly OCIO profile is chosen.

SSmolak wrote:From PV. If color space is set to main ACES it works fine - full 32bit output but if color space is chosen from OCIO list it saving as 8bit.
Images are after 32bit exposure correction in external software.
From SSmolak's second shot in this post from the previous page, the OCIO is Rec 709. That may be the problem. Rec 709 is usually defined as an 8bit color space with values of 16-235. I use the OCIO setting in the picture and it matches the ACESCg setting as well. Notice my OCIO/ACES selection. Anyhow, this is what works for me.

OCIO ACES OUTPUT.jpg
But that problem is with EVERY OCIO profile other than standard ACES even Filmic one from
https://sobotka.github.io/filmic-blender. They all give 8bit output just like Octane while using Camera Image corrections.

I apologize SSmolak, I see the problem you're having is with ACES configurations other than the ACES official (which is what I use.) My mistake. It was your example using REC709 that threw me.

Just a small suggestion: would it be possible to set EXR(Octane) as standard format in the render passes tab?
I always use this (cryptomatte!) but sometimes I forget to switch from EXR and then have to re-render.

Yes if others agree with this!

Why not... any disadvantages I am not aware?

Hello,
1) add a material(reference material) and use a RGB Spectrum note do it then link it to the Diffuse channel. (Lock its property window)
2) add second material(main material). add a RefShader and drag source material's RGB Spectrum link to its link value.
3) assign main material to an object, run Live Viewer
4) change source material's RGB color node value.
Live viewer is not updated. User has to refresh it to see ref shader's updated value.
