still getting the exteremely slow material conversions of live viewer once the scene is reloaded. i already had to fall back from 2018.3 to 4.0.5R2 because the 2018 version additionally crashes almost every 2 minutes when editing node with materials in complex scenes. R4.0.5 doesnt crash, but the material conversion issue is unsolved.
i already posted logs for this here
viewtopic.php?f=85&t=71723#p367190
+but didn't get any further comment if it can be fixed. all textures are definitely resident in my local "tex" folder which is placed together with scene file on my internal SSD RAID in my mac pro. i also noticed that even materials not used in the scene are converted to octane materials one by one, but not when the live viewer starts the first time. do you need a scene? i can only send very large work scenes, as i did not find a point where the complexity triggers the issue.
i'm really interested into solving this - if this is not fixable even after investing lots of money and time into octane (and working without almost any issues for years with the lightwave plugin) i will definitely have to watch for other engine alternatives like redshift, as fast previews are essential for my workflow.

1-It will convert all materials, it's not deniable
2-I don't see any crashes on me, but I'm using 2019.1.
3-I don't see any slow material conversions.
4-V4 and 2018/2019 codes are very same for plugin side. So very weird that you have issues in 2018.
5-I'm still not in work, away for vacation.
As final words, please record a video and send me it with your scene. So we can see what you have.

hi aoktar,
just as a remark, material conversion is only slow for live viewer (not when rendering with picture viewer) and *only* when re-starting the process a second time. first launch is always fast as expected. actually, what i do currently is to quit C4D and then reload the scene every time when i need to restart the live viewer. it's way faster than waiting octane crunching slowly through all materials...
i will record to screen what happens and send you the test scene as soon as i'm out of my monthly deadline hell.
enjoy your vacation!

Yes but everybody will not love that, as me. So need to offer a customisable option to tweak the UI.

HM,
customisable GUI will be great way + Hotkey (start/stop/reset render)
thanks

Hotkey (start/stop/reset render) is currently what we have.
