i don't know. For standalone or plugin? Maybe a stupid software?

Hey mate, your error is appearing also here.
I'm going to check what causes this. My first idea is that should be caused by a cutted hair or zero lenght strand.

Edit: Ok, tested. Really we have a strand which are not visible in standard hair render. But i don't know why or how could resist this. This is not occuring on my hair objects.

Hi there,

i am just rendering a region and my problem seems to be the following:

In the Render Region mode the Picturemanager shows me it will render 875 samples, the run befor it announces 800 samples. BUT i set 10000 samples in the settings and no "overwrite kernel settings"...

What is your opinion to this?

Lokking at the time it will render and the rendering it self, i am not sure if just the shown number is wrong and it is really rendering 10000 samples....

Thank you, Chriz

hi chris,
this is expected behaviour. 10000 maxsamples is for whole area. But it makes a estimation for region to provide same noise ratio.
Formula is that regionmaxsamples = (region area)/(whole area)*maxsamples.
In your example, maxsamples=10000. Region is (1-0.75)*(1-0.65) = 0.0875. whole area=1.
0.0875*10000 = 875

Thank You for answering so fast! As i said before: It seemed to render better than i thought it would do with only 875 samples. :D

So, everything works fine! Have a nice day!

hm….. this means the samples are resolution depending?
linear scaling?

1000 samples at 800x600px is 5x better than 1000 samples at 4000x3000px ?
1000 samples at 800x600px same quality like 5000 samples at 4000x3000px ?
?

Greetings, as I understand development of integration is almost complete, but what about the analog of the compositing tag? This is a very handy tool, sometimes you want to cut an object during rendering, and so on... In addition, it would be nice to be able to obtain an analogue of an "compositing on background" option

I have noticed Cinema 4d crashes a lot when I try to convert c4d materials.

development never stops here. I'm looking for advanced features. What do you mean exactly with cutting object?
Compositing over a background is possible. Just create a background object with c4d material. put a texture to diffuse.
